Friend of woman fleeing domestic violence details Moscow detention

A friend of Aina Mankieva details the circumstances of her detention after she fled domestic violence in Ingushetia.
A friend of 21-year-old Aina Mankieva, detained in Moscow after fleeing her home in Ingushetia and reporting domestic violence, told MSK1.RU that she was last in contact the night before.
According to Lena, on January 14 around 23:00 she saw six missed calls from Aina on her phone. She tried to call back, but Aina was no longer reachable.
“I went into Telegram and saw that she had sent me voice messages: ‘Lena, they’re taking me, I’m at the Svirblovo police department. Please, contact someone.’ I managed to get through to her and spoke, I think, with an investigator. He said she was on a federal wanted list and explained the situation, that they are waiting for people from Ingushetia,” the girl told MSK1.RU.
She added that at the station she tried to find out why Mankieva was detained. According to her, the girl was not given a detention protocol at that time. The detainee has poor eyesight and needs a magnifying glass to read some text, but it was not provided to her, nor were any documents.
“They say, like, if she asks us, we’ll give it to her, but after you leave: ‘We don’t detain people for no reason, we have cameras everywhere here,’” she recounted the dialogue with the police officers.

Lena also added that she did not see anyone from Ingushetia near the police station—neither relatives nor law enforcement officers.
“But I was told last night that they have already set out and should arrive by morning,” the girl added in a conversation with MSK1.RU.
According to her, Mankieva was indeed wanted on charges of theft. Presumably, she was declared wanted in May 2025, while Aina had already left the republic by that time.
“She left at the end of April, meaning she physically could not have stolen anything in May,” her friend stated.
In 2023, on suspicion of theft, 20-year-old Selima Ismailova was detained after fleeing Grozny. Later, the girl was returned to Chechnya. We also reported the story of 19-year-old Chechen woman Lia Zaurbekova, whose relatives tried to forcibly take her from a police station.
