Five Injured in Crash on M-5 Highway in Samara Oblast

On Friday afternoon, January 30, a traffic accident occurred in Samara Oblast, injuring five people. The accident happened in Sergiyevsky District.

«According to preliminary data, at approximately 11:56 a.m., a woman born in 1983 driving a Skoda Fabia was traveling on the 1082nd kilometer of the M-5 »Ural« highway from Ufa towards Samara. While en route, she violated Russian traffic regulations and collided with a Kia Rio driven by a man born in 2003. That car was traveling in the opposite direction,» reported the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Samara Oblast.

According to police, both drivers and the passengers of the Kia — a man born in 1963, a woman born in 1965, and a girl born in 2007 — were injured in the accident. All injured individuals were taken to medical facilities.

A month ago in the Volzhsky District of the oblast, a head-on collision occurred. Unfortunately, a person died in that accident.
