In late December, human rights activists reported the abduction of 18-year-old Varvara (name changed), a native of the Krasnoyarsk region. The girl planned to fly to Hurghada, but police detained her at Moscow«s Domodedovo Airport, after which her father took her to his home in Sochi. Today, the girl fled home again and has already left the country.

Previously, Varvara«s boyfriend raised the alarm, saying the girl was on her way to him in Latin America. He claimed she was being held against her will. Meanwhile, Varvara»s parents insisted they were trying to protect their daughter, who had only recently turned 18. They said she had recently shut herself off from the family, was under external influence, and had left home in secret.

The girl«s father told MSK1.RU the details of his daughter»s escape. According to Eduard, about a week ago, he returned her phone and connected his own SIM card so she could stay in touch.

«We celebrated the New Year well, she had fun, everything was excellent. I had already spoken to her about her studies. She said she wanted to go to St. Petersburg to apply for university. I told her, «Please, if you don»t want to apply in Sochi, let«s do St. Petersburg»,» the girl«s father told MSK1.RU.

According to Eduard, today the girl woke up while he was in the living room working on his phone. After that, she said hello, washed up, got dressed, and asked to go for a walk at the MoreMall shopping center.

«I asked her, «Did you take your phone?» She said yes. And she left, and after a while, my wife comes into the children«s room and asks, »Where is Varya«s backpack?»» the father recalled. «I told her it«s in the closet. But 20–30 minutes had passed. I run out, and her things are gone. I threw open the drawer — her things are gone. I quickly get dressed and run towards MoreMall, looking around. Nothing. I quickly call a police officer. He said to go to the station and file a report. I filed one for theft: I gave her a camera, and she left with it. So I could find her somehow.»

All this time, as the father says, his daughter was online but did not answer calls. Towards evening, a police officer showed him a photo of Varvara at the airport.

«He tells me, «Take a taxi and hurry.» I asked, «Did she buy any tickets?» He answered me, «No, her Russian passport doesn»t show up in the databases.« But her international passport, money — I had everything,» explained Eduard. «I go out — and straight to the police, that»s my daughter, we need to find her urgently. The police checked their database, she had no tickets. But she was nowhere to be found. We thought she was in the women«s bathroom. Time passes, another police officer contacts me and says she»s already in Armenia. She bought tickets, but foreign carriers don«t give out information. I was just a little too late.»

Varvara«s father believes she had some kind of escort at the airport. According to him, when the girl left for her walk, cameras recorded her leaving without a backpack. Then she went around a corner, after which she appeared with a backpack.

«At 1:50 p.m., she showed up on camera, and by 2:45 p.m., she was already at the airport,» the father said. «That means a taxi was waiting for her. She has no money to call a taxi. Someone ordered a taxi for her online, bought the tickets. So she wouldn«t show up anywhere. It was a real special operation.»

The father said he could have taken her phone at any time — he would have seen notifications from another person.

«She never knew when I would take the phone. And everything was perfect,» Eduard added. «I don«t know if she had a second phone. I think she made contact when she went to MoreMall. Tomorrow I will try to call the Russian Embassy in Armenia and I want to write a letter to Bastrykin. I will find that Judas sooner or later.»

Previously, we detailed what is known about the boyfriend she was planning to escape to. In the fall, a Muscovite woman with her 10-year-old son went missing in Istanbul. They were later found near the Syrian border and returned to Russia.
