Prosecutors find cockroaches, peeling plaster in Chelyabinsk hospital

In Chelyabinsk, prosecutors visited the therapeutic building of City Clinical Hospital No. 6 following patient complaints about cockroaches, unsanitary conditions, and the terrible state of wards and corridors. Such complaints have been coming to 74.RU for several years.

Prosecutors, together with staff from Rospotrebnadzor (Russia«s consumer rights and sanitation watchdog), inspected the neurological department and the hospital»s food service unit.

«It was established that repairs are needed in the food service unit premises (plaster is peeling, there are potholes on walls and ceilings, which prevents quality cleaning and disinfection). When interviewing patients of the neurological department, complaints were presented about the presence of cockroaches and lack of cleaning in the wards,» the supervisory authority reported.

For violating sanitary-epidemiological legislation, the head of the epidemiological department and the head of the nutrition department were held administratively liable, and the chief physician was given a submission to eliminate violations, based on which four more employees were held disciplinarily liable.

Recall that patients back in 2023 complained about the condition of the main building of City Clinical Hospital No. 6. The hospital itself explained that repairs are ongoing, but the queue hasn«t reached this building yet.
