General's wife hospitalized after eating unwashed raisins

A member of the Public Chamber of Russia and well-known Samara public figure Ekaterina Kolotovkina ended up in the hospital after poisoning from store-bought dried fruits. The general«s wife and head of the project »Wives of Heroes« shared the unpleasant experience on her social media.

The packaging of the dried fruit set did not include any instructions to wash the contents before eating.

According to Kolotovkina, she bought a packaged set of nuts and dried fruits at a vegetable shop near her home. In the evening, without washing the raisins, she ate them with herbal tea. Kolotovkina suspects that the culprit of her poor health was precisely the raisins purchased at «Eastern Shop».

«Of course, I didn«t wash it, because I thought that in such sealed sets everything is processed,» she wrote.

The consequences did not take long to appear.

«I have severe poisoning, loss of almost two kilograms (about 4.4 lbs) of weight in a day, weakness and cramps. At first I tried to treat myself at home, but on Monday, after going to work, my condition worsened, and I had to call an ambulance,» the general«s wife recounts.

Later, after carefully examining the packaging, Kolotovkina noted that there is no warning on it about the need to wash the products.

«But I think there are definitely bacteria there,» she added.

To her followers, the public figure gave a simple but important piece of advice: «Wash everything you eat.» Now her condition is gradually improving.
