Children Hospitalized After Kindergarten Salmonella Outbreak Recovering

The children hospitalized after salmonella cases were detected at the Teremok kindergarten in Nyagan are recovering. This was reported by «Yugra Official» with reference to the regional health department.
«All necessary medical assistance is being provided to patients undergoing outpatient treatment. Among the hospitalized, there is positive dynamics: the patients are recovering,» noted the Department of Health of Yugra.
Recall that on January 23, the mayor of Nyagan, Ivan Yamashiev, reported that salmonella had been detected at the Teremok kindergarten. Four children were taken to the hospital, tests were taken from other pupils, and medical staff are monitoring their condition.
The epidemiological investigation began on January 19 and continues to this day. Sanitary doctors are looking for the source of the infection. According to the examination results, all kindergarten staff are healthy. The version that substandard food products might have been supplied to the institution is being investigated. Tests of food raw materials have been sent to the laboratory for examination.
The work of the Teremok kindergarten has been temporarily suspended. The situation is being monitored by Rospotrebnadzor (Russia«s consumer rights and human wellbeing watchdog). Specialists are carrying out anti-epidemic measures: sanitary treatment with disinfectants is being carried out in the kindergarten.
Earlier we wrote that the manager of the sushi bar «Johnny Tuna» in Surgut, where 11 children were poisoned, was sentenced. Salmonellosis enteritis was found in the affected clients.
