In April 2024, while performing combat tasks in the special military operation zone, 20-year-old Artyom Sugrobov, a native of St. Petersburg, was killed. More than a year and a half has passed since his death, but his mother still cannot receive her son«s posthumous award — the Order of Courage.
The young serviceman distinguished himself during his service by personally participating in the evacuation of more than 500 wounded comrades from the battlefield. Learning of his feat, the unit commander after Sugrobov«s death prepared and sent a report nominating the hero for the Order of Courage. However, despite this, the award was never presented to his relatives.
As it became known, the unified electronic document management system of the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) completely lacks information that Artyom Sugrobov was nominated for any state award. There is no record of the report being submitted, considered, or any decision made — not even in the form of a denial.
