Parts of Murmansk and Severomorsk lose power again in line failure

A power outage has been recorded at some facilities in Murmansk and the closed administrative-territorial formation of Severomorsk. This was reported by the governor of the Murmansk region, Andrei Chibis. The accident occurred on a section of power line with temporary supports, though the supports themselves are not damaged.
According to Chibis, energy workers are acting according to a pre-established algorithm. Emergency recovery teams are switching consumers to backup power supply schemes in an operational mode. First and foremost, electricity is being provided to life-support facilities.
The company Rosseti (the Russian Grids) clarified that during restoration work, a repeated technological failure was recorded on another section of the power line. The situation is complicated by deteriorating weather conditions. All teams are working around the clock.
«Specialists are doing everything possible to restore power supply as soon as possible,» the press service of Rosseti North-West reported.
Recall that Andrei Chibis announced the cancellation of electricity payments for residents of Murmansk and Severomorsk during the power outages.
In the Murmansk region, a power line was installed on temporary supports, and later they began test restoration of power to apartments for residents of Murmansk and Severomorsk.
The prosecutor«s office of the Murmansk region has already launched an investigation into the mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated. It turned out that the fallen power line supports had been in service for almost 60 years.
