The Chkalovskaya Fishing Festival will take place on 28 February 2026 on the waters of the Gorky Reservoir. As reported by the administration of Chkalovsky District, the full program of the event will be announced in the coming days.
The traditional festival has been held in Nizhny Novgorod Region since 2010. Participation does not require prior fishing experience — in addition to tournaments, guests can expect educational workshops and informative excursions.
The competitive part features several formats:
- Main tournament — «Chkalov Cup», which takes place in several stages across different zones of the reservoir;
- «Klevaya FISHka» — a special category for foreign guests without fishing experience;
- Other categories: «Fishing Family», «Two Ruffes», «Wise Gudgeon», «SVOya Fishing», as well as the photo contest «Catch the Fish».
Based on past years« experience, participation in the tournaments requires prior registration and payment of an organizational fee. The prize fund for the current season is 1 million rubles (approximately $11,000 at current rates).
