Vegetable prices rise again in Altai Krai; weekly product increases detailed
Price increases for goods in Altai Krai slowed this week, with fresh cucumbers and tomatoes seeing the highest hikes, according to regional statistics.

Price growth for products in Altai Krai slowed down compared to last week, but even so, some products continued to rise in price. Fresh cucumbers and tomatoes saw the highest hikes this time, while butter significantly slowed its increase. This and other data come from the monitoring by Altai Krai Statistics. NGS22.RU examined this information and determined how prices changed from January 19 to 26, 2026.
The price tag for cucumbers jumped by 25.3 rubles (approximately $0 at current rates) — more than any other product. Now, a kilogram of vegetables will cost 298.74 rubles (about $3 at current rates), up from 273.44 rubles (about $3 at current rates). Tomatoes are in second place for price growth. Their cost rose to 255.08 rubles (about $3 at current rates) over the week, an increase of 5.97 rubles (approximately $0 at current rates).
Prices for other vegetables and fruits also increased: apples (+1.95 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates), bananas (+1.8 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates), white cabbage (+1.35 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates), potatoes (+0.86 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates), carrots (+0.61 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates). The exception was onions (-0.56 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates).
Among dairy products, there were no such sharp price jumps. Butter and milk became more expensive by 2.48 and 2.21 rubles, respectively (approximately $0 each at current rates). Cottage cheese and sour cream, on the contrary, became cheaper by 1.15 and 0.81 rubles (approximately $0 each at current rates).
Price tags for meat changed even less. Beef and pork rose by less than one ruble: +0.63 and +0.46 rubles, respectively (approximately $0 each at current rates). Lamb maintained its previous price of 847.91 rubles per kilogram (about $8 at current rates). Chicken became cheaper, but only by 0.37 rubles (approximately $0 at current rates).
The cost of other popular goods slightly decreased: chicken eggs (-1.8 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates), sunflower oil (-1.65 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates), and granulated sugar (-0.53 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates). Only wheat flour became slightly more expensive (+0.02 rubles, approximately $0 at current rates).
