The topic of state child benefits continues to spark lively debates among Tyumen residents.
Some believe that payments are distributed unfairly, while others see them as crucial aid for families.
Here are some of the opinions expressed.
«I consciously choose not to have children. I understand that at the moment I can»t afford them. At the same time, I work officially at two jobs. Why should my deductions go to support children, some of whose parents are irresponsible about conception?« — asks one Tyumen resident.
«I»ve been married three times, alimony: 5,000, 17,200, 17,200 rubles (about $50, $172, $172 at current rates). Reality: I own my home, there«s a mortgage for a house under construction — 55,000 rubles per month (about $550). The children study at school for free (in the village), but there»s a need for tutors and a nanny for the youngest (27,000 rubles per month, about $270). The children attend clubs. There«s a car that requires maintenance and fuel. We don»t receive benefits. The question: is having children really a matter of «profit»? Or is it still about opportunities, as a rule, to become a mother?«
«How annoying is all this whining about benefits. Our parents raised and educated us without them!» — exclaims another commenter.
«It would be better if benefits were paid to all women for a child up to 3 years old. After all, after 1.5 years, there are no benefits at all.»
«I have a large family, 3 children, but we don»t have low-income status because my husband and I work. Because of this, we were denied benefits since our income slightly exceeds the limit. To be honest, the benefit would be helpful — for the same clubs and activities for the children.«
«We also have a slight excess in income. There are 5 children in the family, but there»s no real help. And we wouldn«t need this help, it»s just that a lot is written about it, that it«s provided, but in fact, for us, it»s not.«
«I worked from when my first child was 2 months old, great-grandmothers helped. Personally, I don»t care about others. The state is good, but as a mother, I hold myself accountable, even though men are the financial support in every home. Well, if my husband and I separated, I would never file for alimony.«
«Child benefits should be paid to everyone.»
«There are many who live on benefits and don»t work. It turns out that we work and feed some cunning people, and we have our own children, by the way.«
«Only alcoholics live on benefits and don»t work. Very few normal families get these benefits approved. I, for one, haven«t received any. And those miserable 19,000 rubles (about $190) won»t save me at all. How can you live on that? And raise a child?«
State child payments are considered one of the key measures of family support.
Their accrual begins during pregnancy and continues until the child reaches 17 years of age.
Starting from 2026, the amount of the unified benefit for families with children and pregnant women, including the monthly payment from maternity capital (a Russian family support program) funds, has been automatically recalculated for Tyumen residents.
