Ryazan Priest and Wife Mark Golden Wedding Anniversary

The couple spends their leisure time engaging in spiritual reading and family activities, maintaining a close bond after five decades.
In the Ryazan Kremlin, they honored the rector of the Pokrovsky Church in the village of Polyany, Dmitry Romashchenko, and his wife Valentina. They celebrated their golden wedding on 28 January 2026 — the couple has been together for 50 years, as reported by the Ryazan civil registry office.
Dmitry Romashchenko graduated from a construction technical school and a seminary course, while his wife Valentina Stepanovna graduated from the Ryazan Medical College and Institute. She worked in pharmacy management and now sings in the choir.
‘Free time from service is spent by the family reading spiritual literature, tending to chores on the household plot, and communicating with children and grandchildren,’the main administration reported.
Over 50 years of married life, the Romashchenko family has welcomed three sons and five grandchildren.
Metropolitan Mark of Ryazan and Mikhailov delivered a farewell speech, and the head of the civil registry office, Elena Sorokina, presented gifts to the anniversary couple.
