Russian President Vladimir Putin posthumously awarded the medal «For Saving Lives» to a 16-year-old from the Orenburg region — Rasil Iksanov. The decree, signed by the head of state, was published on the government«s legal information website.
The presidential decree honoring Rasil Iksanov was published on the official legal information portal.

Journalists from 56.RU have already reported on Rasil«s brave and decisive actions. The tragedy occurred on August 1 of last year. The Orenburg resident, who had come to visit his grandmother, went with his sister and friends to swim at one of the unimproved beaches in the village of Tatarsky Saraktash. One of the girls was carried away by the current, and the young man immediately rushed to her aid. He managed to push her out of the water, but was unable to get out himself. The boy»s body was found exactly where he disappeared from view...

Yulia, the boy«s mother, said in several interviews that Rasil wanted to become a surgeon, loved animals and nature, and in first grade wrote in his notebook that he dreamed of becoming a superhero. And that came true.
