New skating rink opens on Samara embankment, closed Mondays

A new cool skating rink has appeared in Samara — it will operate on the embankment near Nekrasovsky Descent. Details were shared by the city mayor Ivan Noskov on his Telegram channel.

“Today we opened the long-awaited skating rink on the embankment near Nekrasovsky Descent. This is a new rink, so its opening was not entirely ordinary — the first on the ice with a small performance were students from Samara Children and Youth Sports School No. 10,” the city head reported.

The rink operates every day except Monday and the period from 7 to 11 a.m. — during this time, ice resurfacing is conducted.
“Come, the rink is illuminated, and there is a skate rental point,” the mayor invited Samara residents.

Skating is beneficial in several ways. It is a good cardio workout: the heart and lungs work actively, endurance increases, while the load on joints is softer than running. During skating, almost all muscle groups are engaged — legs, glutes, core and back muscles, so strength, coordination, and balance improve.
Regular practice helps burn calories and maintain weight. Moreover, skating develops reaction and concentration, and being outdoors reduces stress levels, improves mood and sleep.
