Marina Pakhniy, a 20-year-old flight attendant from Chelyabinsk, has become a participant in the «Top Stewardesses 12» contest. She has already passed the online casting and reached the semifinals. In-person castings will begin in February, while applications are still being accepted. Marina admitted to 74.RU that she has dreamed of a career in aviation since childhood; no one in her family had previously worked in this field.

A skydiving experience on her 18th birthday reinforced her desire to work at high altitudes.

«Airplanes appeared in my heart from a very young age,» the girl said. «Frequent travels in childhood made me think about working in the sky, and since then, the thought of the flight attendant profession has not left me. The topic of aviation was very interesting to me. At the age of 18, I made a parachute jump and realized that height is definitely for me; working in the clouds will be my place, there I will find myself.»
Her passion for travel started in childhood and now defines her professional life.

«You can train to become a flight attendant for free at the expense of the airline, or at your own expense in special schools that conduct the necessary courses for flight attendants. I trained at the expense of the airline,» Marina said. «I completed all the theory and practice, gained a comprehensive knowledge base, and also passed all exams and certification here.»
The competition involves public voting, and Marina is seeking support from the community.

Now Marina works as a stewardess, including on international flights.

«During my work, I have managed to visit many cities and countries. For example, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia,» the contest participant listed. «My dream destination has always been Dubai, where I was in late November. It was unforgettable! After all, it was a long-awaited business trip that gave me wonderful emotions!!! Other destinations I would like to visit are the Maldives and Spain, but our airline does not fly there.»

Marina believes she has chances to win the contest. She will have to demonstrate not only her appearance but also her flight attendant skills.

«On every flight, I receive compliments from passengers, and sometimes some passengers recognize me because they flew with me some time ago, some even give small gifts,» the girl shared. «Colleagues enjoy having a dialogue with me; I am open to communication and new acquaintances. So when people want to meet and chat with me — I»m all for it.«

Recall that the first «Top Most Beautiful Stewardesses of Russia» contest was held in 2014. In 2017, the project gained international status. Girls from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and the UAE participate in it.

In 2023, two participants from Chelyabinsk Oblast — Kristina Voeikova and Rezeda Gainutdinova — reached the finals of the contest. Here is what they told about their life and profession. One of them made it into the top ten. In 2024, 34-year-old Svetlana Shabalina from Miass reached the finals.
