British blogger Nick Darlinson visited Yakutsk and highlighted three things that surprised him: fabric garages, ice fog, and the standard of living of the Yakuts. He wrote about this in his blog.

“The first thing that surprised me was the fabric garages they call ‘Natashas’. They cover cars with them to prevent freezing. The second is the ice fog, which is very beautiful. It is said to form because Yakutsk is located in a valley. And third – in winter, the Yakuts don«t just survive, they live – and live beautifully! Yakutsk not only surprises but also conquers my British heart,” admitted Nick Darlinson.

The blogger also visited the Kingdom of Permafrost, lay on an ice bed with a fur hide, and was left in pleasant shock.
