Omsk private kindergartens offer hotel services and school pick-up

Choosing a kindergarten for your child can be challenging. Each institution has teachers working with the children, and many organize additional clubs. You can attend sessions with a speech therapist, take choreography classes, or learn English.

Some private organizations offer preschool children and their parents more unusual services, of course, for a fee. We studied the list of offerings and their prices. Read about which paid kindergartens feature home cooking, individual schedules, and other perks in this NGS55.RU report.

Hotel for children

The Atmosfera uspekha (Atmosphere of Success) center at 11 Maslennikova Street accepts children not only on a permanent basis but also temporarily: for a few hours or overnight. This service is called a hotel. It is available for children aged 1 to 10.

Teachers will look after the child. On weekdays, an hour of their work costs 400 rubles (about $4 at current rates). A half-day costs 1,500 rubles ($17), a full day is 2,000 rubles ($22), overnight is 1,200 rubles ($13), and 24 hours cost 2,500 rubles ($28). On weekends, the hourly rate is the same as on weekdays. A half-day and overnight cost 1,000 rubles ($11), a full day is 1,500 rubles ($17), and 24 hours are 2,000 rubles ($22).

«This is a convenient and modern format for parents who need to step out briefly for errands, stay late at work, or simply carve out some time for themselves. There are many situations where such a service is indispensable: an urgent business trip, moving house, a need for parents to spend time alone, or simply to get a little rest. Experienced teachers and caregivers will do everything to gently adapt the child to the temporary separation, surround them with care, and fill each day with engaging activities and interesting leisure,» the kindergarten told NGS55.RU.

Daily attendance for children aged 1 to 3 costs 30,000 rubles ($333) per month including meals; the group for ages 3–6 is more expensive at 39,000 rubles ($433). By prior arrangement, children are accepted even on holidays and weekends. The center also offers after-school care for schoolchildren from 1st to 3rd grade.

Home-cooked meals
Yagodka (Little Berry) at 131 3-ya Liniya Street is a kindergarten with family traditions. It also offers full-day and part-day groups. The cost of attendance ranges from 15,000 to 23,000 rubles ($167–$256) per month.
The kindergarten is located in a standalone building with a fenced territory. Children participate in active outdoor games and undergo hardening procedures. The main feature of the institution is home-cooked meals. Dishes are prepared taking into account the individual characteristics of each pupil. There is a separate menu for children with allergies and lactose intolerance.
«The first three days of adaptation are free. The kindergarten operates on a full-day and part-day basis in the best classical family traditions. It has its own kitchen, with a menu available for children prone to allergies and with milk intolerance.»
School pick-up service
Zaiki (Bunnies) at 17/1 Malinovskogo Street positions itself not only as a kindergarten but also as a development center for older children. Many similar organizations in Omsk offer after-school care for elementary school students, but most often parents need to bring their children to the classes themselves. At Zaiki, they can pick up your child from school if they attend schools No. 4, 9, 106, or 120.
«We have special staff members on our payroll who go to the schools. We have a driver; one employee goes with a parent. Plus, there»s another employee who walks to the nearest school. We have a chat with parents. There, from 7 to 8 p.m., parents write the time they need their child picked up. Based on this, a route is planned. In the chat, we send parents a photo confirming we«ve picked up their child,» explained representatives of the children«s center.
At the after-school program, the child has lunch and does homework. For an additional fee, they can be enrolled in clubs.
«If the child stays until 4 p.m., the cost including meals is 10,000 rubles ($111). If until 7 p.m., it»s 12,700 rubles ($141). This is without clubs. Kindergarten groups for ages one to six cost 8,000 rubles ($89) per month for a half-day, and 16,000 rubles ($178) for a full day.«
Individual schedule
The Umka kindergarten at 3 Irkutskaya Street is ready to accommodate parents and accept children on an individual schedule—not for the whole week. The schedule is discussed when the child is enrolled. A full day (from 07:30 to 19:00) will cost 1,100 rubles ($12), a part-day (from 07:30 to 12:30 or from 15:30 to 19:00) is 850 rubles ($9).
As Umka told NGS55.RU, parents do not often choose attendance on their own schedule. Nevertheless, some need this service.
«An individual schedule is possible for everyone; it is mainly chosen by parents with part-time employment, when they need to go to work 1–2 days a week. Also, some children attend many classes with teachers and other specialists, and the opportunity to go to kindergarten arises only a couple of times a week, which is necessary for socialization and the development of comprehensive skills. Such requests don»t come often, but usually, there«s always at least one such child in the kindergarten.»
If a child attends the kindergarten on a standard schedule, payment is taken monthly. A full day on weekdays costs 18,000 rubles ($200), a part-day is 12,000 rubles ($133). On weekends and holidays, only regular pupils are usually accepted for a separate fee.
Live video monitoring
Several video cameras are installed in the Bambiliani kindergarten at 8 Koneva Street. Any parent can log onto a special website at any time and see what their child is doing. Live online video surveillance is included in the overall fee.
«We give parents access to the cameras, and they can watch the children and their activities,» the institution said.
A full day costs 17,500 rubles ($194), a part-day is 13,500 rubles ($150). You can also opt not to buy a monthly pass and bring your child at any time from 07:00 to 19:00. In this case, you will need to pay 350 rubles ($4) per hour.
