Kurgan Parents Report Problems Accessing Remote Learning

For three days in a row, the Trans-Urals region has been experiencing freezing temperatures. While children used to rejoice at the bitter cold because it meant canceled classes, now lessons are not canceled entirely but transferred to distance learning. However, not everyone is able to access it. Dozens of parents have complained on the social network VKontakte that their children couldn«t get into their lessons.

«For about two hours, using a PC and three smartphones, we couldn»t create a personal account for the child so he could connect to the distance learning lessons,« says an anonymous post in the group »Typical Kurgan«.

The post collected more than 400 likes, 150 shares, and over a hundred comments.

«We struggled for two days,» Darya supported the author.

«Today my adult daughter couldn»t complete the quest. At the stage of linking the diary to the profile, everything stopped. She missed the distance learning, and according to her, only half the class was connected during the lessons, the others had the same problem,« wrote Irina in the comments.

The connection problems with distance learning lessons arose because first children need to create accounts on the «Gosuslugi» (Government Services) portal from one of the parent«s accounts, then link it to the electronic diary. If previously, after these actions, it was also required to link the diary to »Sferum«, and then one could enter the lesson, now the student must be registered in the MAX application, then link it to the electronic diary. Many faced difficulties at the last stage.

«We tried to log in for two days, until we called the school and they linked the child»s phone number to the account (last year we had no problem logging in via «Sferum» with this number), but we couldn«t connect to MAX. My nerves are shot,» wrote a user named Yanochka.

«We never connected, the shamanic dances didn»t help. «Max» works, the kids are texting each other, but we don«t see the lessons and can»t connect to them. The confirmation code for «Max» from «Gosuslugi» doesn«t come,» noted Yulia.

One of the users had no sound after connecting.

Some parents in the comments wrote that they spent 30 minutes on all the connections.

«It»s all easy, I did it in half an hour. The main step that doesn«t depend on you — is to call the school and ask them to link the child»s number to the school platform,« shared Arthur.

«If you were already registered in »Sferum«, you need to register the same student phone number in MAX that was in »Sferum«. Click »Start« in the dialogue with the »Sferum« bot. The »Sferum« tab will appear, at first it was empty, the chats with subjects appeared by the start of the lesson. We, according to the schedule, go to MAX at the start of the lesson, not the electronic diary, and in the right subject chat we connect,» advised Irina.

«I created the child»s account on «Gosuslugi», then a child«s email. Then the electronic diary and »Sferum«. Everything in order. Everywhere he has his own number and must log in from the child»s account. Now my son has all the chats in «Max» appear by themselves. There were no problems at all. It«s easier to do everything from a computer,» shared Ksenia.

Earlier, in response to a request from the editorial office of 45.RU, the Department of Education and Science of the Kurgan region said that schools independently decide on issues regarding the organization of the educational process. The press service of the Kurgan administration did not respond to the journalist«s question about distance learning.

In one of the city«s schools, a correspondent of 45.RU was told that for joining a lesson, children must be registered in MAX, but this is voluntary for parents. A child who couldn»t attend the lesson won«t face any measures, and assignments from teachers will have to be completed independently. If necessary, the school can help parents with the connection.
