Schools in Kazan will switch to remote and electronic learning on Saturday, January 31. This was reported by the city hall.
‘Duty classes will operate in schools. School bus routes have been temporarily suspended,’ noted the city hall.
The decision to change the format of educational institutions was made due to the introduction of the ‘Blizzard Plan’ in Kazan from 18:00 today.
Details on how classes will be organized on Monday will be announced later. Residents are asked to limit public transportation trips if possible.
Snow chaos began in Kazan overnight. Throughout the day, there have been traffic jams on roads, ice and snowdrifts on highways, and flight delays at the airport.
In the morning on Bolshaya Krylovka Street, a support structure collapsed under the weight of snow, leading to the suspension of trolleybus route No. 1. Also, 13 school buses that bring children to lessons from villages and residential areas are not operating today. As a result, taxi prices and demand continue to rise even outside peak hours. According to a climatologist expert«s forecast, snowstorms will not leave Tatarstan until the end of the week.
