Extreme cold cancels second shift school classes in Yugra on January 21

Schoolchildren across all municipalities of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra will not attend classes on January 21 due to extreme low temperatures.

Schoolchildren in Yugra are staying home. On January 21, a school closure has been declared for the second shift in all cities. Thus, due to extremely low air temperatures, classes are canceled for students:

  • Suroguta – grades 1–11;

  • Nizhnevartovsk – grades 1–8;

  • Kogalym – grades 1–8;

  • Nyagan – grades 1–11;

  • Nefteyugansk – grades 1–8;

  • Langepas – grades 1–8;

  • Beloyarsky – grades 1–11;

  • Raduzhny – grades 1–8;

  • Megion – grades 1–8;

  • Pokachi – grades 1–8;

  • Pyt-Yakh – grades 1–8;

  • Khanty-Mansiysk – grades 1–11;

  • Uray – grades 1–8;

  • Yugorsk – grades 1–11;

  • Sovetsky – grades 1–11;

  • Lyantor – grades 1–11.

School closures have also been announced in settlements of the Beloyarsky, Berezovsky, Kondinsky, Nefteyugansky, Nizhnevartovsky, Oktyabrsky, Sovetsky, Surgutsky, Khanty-Mansiysky, and Oktyabrsky districts of Yugra.

At the time of the announcement, air temperatures in cities and settlements were at –32…–36 degrees Celsius (–26…–33°F). This was reported by the Gosuslugi.My Yugra website.
