Volgograd Identifies Highest and Lowest Paying Jobs

A statistical report reveals which industries in the Volgograd region offer the best salaries and which barely meet subsistence levels for the first ten months of 2025.

Volgogradstat has published fresh data on the average wage level in the region. The report includes information from January to October 2025. It shows who earns the most and whose wages struggle to reach 50,000 rubles (approximately $500 at current rates).

The highest salaries are in the mineral extraction industry. There, the average salary, according to Volgogradstat, was 111,814.9 rubles (approximately $1,100 at current rates), or 168.3% of the regional average wage.

Activity in the field of information and communication brought those employed in this sector an average of 87,867.5 rubles per month (about $880 at current rates), or 132.2% of the average regional salary. Those engaged in manufacturing were paid 82,496.9 rubles per month (around $820 at current rates), or 124.1% higher than the regional average. Rounding out the top five is professional scientific and technical activity, with an average payment of 82,173.6 rubles per month (approximately $820 at current rates, or 123.6% of the average regional salary).

The top five list of economic sectors with the lowest wages is led by education. People in this field earn on average just over 50,000 rubles per month—50,308.4 (about $500 at current rates), or 75.7% of the average regional wage. In second place are Volgograd residents employed in administrative activities and providing related additional services, with a wage level of 47,680.9 rubles (approximately $480 at current rates, or 71.7% of the regional average). Those providing other types of services receive 45,386.7 rubles monthly (around $450 at current rates), or 68.3% of the regional average. Realtors earned an average of 44,757.5 rubles (about $450 at current rates, or 67.3% of the average regional labor payment). Those in the hotel and restaurant business were paid an average of 42,843.3 rubles (approximately $430 at current rates, or 64.5% of the regional average).
