Investigative journalist and author of the Telegram channel «Funeral Trust» Ivan Golunov has published an updated ranking of Russia«s largest funeral entrepreneurs. The list includes several business representatives from Krasnodar Krai.

5th Place – Oleg Makarevich and Ramzik Tazagulov

Revenue amounted to 1.208 billion rubles ($13 million at current rates), profit – 310.8 million rubles ($3.4 million), and income growth for the year – 47.9%. Makarevich and Tazagulov traditionally rank among the leaders of the regional funeral market – their structures in Krasnodar hold a significant share of funeral organization services.

However, the project to build a crematorium in the regional center, estimated at about 300 million rubles ($3.3 million), has not been implemented: land for the facility was not allocated, and the matter is temporarily frozen.

Makarevich, known in the media as the «Night Governor of Krasnodar,» has been wanted since 2021 in a tax evasion case. According to several Telegram channels, he continues to manage assets remotely from Austria, remaining a defendant in several old criminal cases.

20th Place – Sergey Martynnikov and Dmitry Khaimin, company «Granit»

The funeral bureau took 20th place with revenue of 402 million rubles ($4.5 million) and growth of 14.9%. A feature of the business is that «Granit» operates in several regions – from Krasnodar Krai to Kuzbass, Novosibirsk, and Adygea. Such interregional presence is quite rare in the funeral sector.

According to the ranking, Martynnikov is also known as a pastor of an evangelical church in Krasnodar.

66th Place – Vladimir Aleksushin, funeral home «Mausoleum»

Under this brand and related structures of businessman Vladimir Aleksushin (for example, LLC «Mausoleum-Sochi» and LLC «Avicenna»), the company achieved revenue of 168 million rubles ($1.9 million) and profit of 59 million rubles ($660,000).

According to the ranking, the activity of «Mausoleum» remains noticeable in the funeral services market in Sochi, even after a series of high-profile arrests of officials who at various times supervised the industry at the Black Sea resort.

67th Place – Alexander Romanchenko, company «All from Stone»

Revenue amounted to 166.5 million rubles ($1.9 million), profit – 29.3 million ($330,000), growth – 15.2%. This is a large plant for processing and manufacturing memorial products from natural stone in southern Russia with production facilities in the stanitsa of Starominskaya (Krasnodar Krai).

Romanchenko is a deputy of the district council («United Russia»). He is a member of the commission on agro-industrial complex and ecology issues.
