A memorial plaque for Vladimir Vysotsky is to be installed on the facade of the Torpedo Sports Palace in Yaroslavl.

On Chkalov Street in Yaroslavl, on January 25 at 14:00, a ceremonial opening (6+) of a memorial plaque for Vladimir Vysotsky will take place. On the poet«s birthday, the facade of the Torpedo Sports Palace will be adorned with the memorial.
Vladimir Vysotsky was a Soviet poet and actor. He became famous in the country for his bard songs. On January 25, 2026, he would have turned 88 years old.
The authorities decided to install the memorial plaque on July 4, 2025. The walls of the Torpedo Sports Palace were chosen not by chance. Here, on February 28, 1979, Vladimir Vysotsky gave three concerts in a row.
“Vysotsky will forever remain the voice of a generation, an expresser of deep feelings and experiences of millions of Soviet people. His work was a reflection of reality, a truthful view on the life of society in those times,” explained the Yaroslavl mayor«s office.
The authorities also noted that installing the memorial plaque will be another sign of respect for Vladimir Vysotsky«s legacy and will preserve his memory for future generations of Yaroslavl residents.
In memory of the poet, a concert titled “Not Even Half a Year Will Pass” (12+) will be held at the Krasny Perikop Cultural Center at 17:00. Ticket prices range from 400 to 1,000 rubles (approximately $4 to $11 at current rates). Most seats have already been sold.
