Magnitogorsk actress stars in Turkish-filmed Russian series
Alina Voskresenskaya«s character Nina faces challenges after a tragic event in her life.
Actress from Magnitogorsk Alina Voskresenskaya played one of the leading roles in the KION series «Close Happiness.» In the project, which was filmed in Istanbul, the actress portrayed a girl named Nina who grew up in a foster Turkish family. Alina Voskresenskaya told the MGORSK.RU correspondent about how she worked with an international team and about her character.
The series «Close Happiness» is filmed in the style of popular Turkish melodramas. Alina Voskresenskaya«s character Nina desperately tries to find a job after a tragic event (probably, we will learn about it while watching). The girl gets a job at a large shopping mall in Istanbul owned by businessman Ruslan Adamov. A spark flies between the characters, but whether they can overcome the trials and preserve their love, viewers will only find out at the end of the series.
She dedicates herself entirely to her work at a shopping mall in Istanbul.
25-year-old Alina Voskresenskaya was born in Magnitogorsk. In 2020, she graduated from the Moscow Theater School of Oleg Tabakov. After that, she enrolled in GITIS. She has been serving at the Satire Theater since 2022. She has acted in the series «Univer. Young,» «Difficult Teenagers,» «Crybaby.»
«Completely Changed My Views and Worldview»
The difference in the organization of the filming process abroad compared to Russia did not cause any problems for Alina. But due to the language barrier, comical situations arose, the actress noted. Although before the filming, Alina devoted all her free time to memorizing the text in Turkish, in practice it was not easy.
«Not everyone in the filming crew knew English, just as they didn»t know each other«s languages (Turkish and Russian). We had to communicate literally with gestures. I don»t know how the Turkish part of the filming crew listened to me during takes and held back from laughing. I think it cost them a lot of effort,« explained Alina Voskresenskaya. »During a take, I would say something from my lines in Turkish, and after the «cut» command, they would translate to me that instead of the phrase «this store is very important to my uncle,» I said «my uncle flew into space.» And they stand in front of the camera nodding understandingly, and after the take we laugh for several minutes.«
After a couple of weeks of work, Alina was already able to hold simple conversations in Turkish.
«Also, due to working in another country and, accordingly, practice, I greatly improved my English level. I fell in love with traveling, studying languages, and completely changed my views and worldview,» continued Alina. «I am very grateful to this project for everything. I think it will be in my heart forever! I dream of more projects in other languages.»
During breaks between filming, Alina explored the sights of Turkey.
«I really love the sun and good weather, and the temperature was just optimal for me. I saw many mosques, even flew to Dalaman. I tried to visit all districts of Istanbul, find favorite places in the city, favorite cafes, coffee shops, metro stations,» listed Alina Voskresenskaya. «Istanbul became a discovery for me, and I even regret that I had never been there before the filming. Turkey, as I know it now, is a place with beautiful, talented, charismatic people, with incredible culture and nature. I like how this language sounds, I like their music, and in many ways, their mentality is close to me.»
The beautiful heroine also dreams of finding love amidst her struggles.
Actor Mikhail Kremer plays the role of Nina«s love interest in the series.
«My Character»s Self-Sacrifice Is at Its Maximum«
But her own character was not always close to Alina, according to her:
«Nina is very hardworking and ambitious, ready to literally live at work and give her all to this atelier and clothing store because she always dreamed of it. In this, we are sometimes similar. I just think that my character»s self-sacrifice is at its maximum, while I still try to learn to ask for help when I can«t cope at all. Without spoilers, but I think that by the end of the series, my character still comes to the same thought because she allows herself to finally fall in love!»
In the idea that one must go after one«s dream lies the main message of the series, according to Alina.
«Don»t be afraid to dream boldly, and everything will definitely come true. Always believe in your heart, listen to it, and it will never deceive you. Live, feel, fall in love as if for the last time. At least try to take the first step towards your dreams and goals — and it will definitely respond,« added Alina Voskresenskaya.
The premiere of the original series by the online cinema KION will take place on November 1.
