A 31-year-old resident of the Liski District has been detained on suspicion of murdering his parents. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee.

The crime was committed on 29 January in the village of Kopanishche. According to the investigation, the suspect quarreled with his parents and then stabbed them. The 52-year-old man and woman died on the spot from their injuries.

«In connection with the criminal case, the crime scene has been inspected, the weapons of the crime—knives—have been seized, a set of necessary forensic examinations has been ordered, witnesses have been questioned, and other investigative and procedural actions aimed at gathering and securing evidence are being carried out,» the Investigative Committee said.

A criminal case has been opened under the article on murder. Investigators have applied to the court with a motion to send the suspect to a pre-trial detention center. Charges are expected to be brought against the man in the near future.
