Two Schoolboys Sent to Detention for Gymnasium Violence
The Traktorozavodsky District Court today considered cases against two schoolboys involved in the Chelyabinsk gymnasium incident.
On 30 January, two third-graders were sent to the center for temporary detention of juvenile offenders (CVSNP), accused of sexual violence against a 9-year-old boy in a Chelyabinsk gymnasium. But a total of three children were involved in the case. As 74.RU found out, today the Traktorozavodsky District Court did not consider materials on the alleged instigator of the abuses.
Initially, in the materials of the Investigative Committee (SKR), there was one suspect; the two other boys were in the status of witnesses, allegedly they did nothing, only watched. As a result, only one was registered with the juvenile affairs inspection. A court hearing on placing him in CVSNP was held in December last year, and at that time, the isolation of the schoolboy was denied. Currently, this decision is being appealed in the regional court, and a decision is expected in February.
But after the intervention in the case by the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, the witnesses were re-interviewed, registered, and today the court decided to send them to a correctional institution for 30 days. In addition, the parents were fined under Article 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offences for failure to fulfill duties for the maintenance and upbringing of minors.
The mother of the victim boy said that she was not allowed into the court, the consideration of the cases took place behind closed doors. She is satisfied with today«s decision.
“This is at least something; before the publicity, nothing was moving at all,” she summarized.
Recall that the wild story of violence against a third-grader in the school toilet happened back in September last year. For several months, the mother of the victim boy could not achieve punishment for the offenders, who had not reached the age of criminal responsibility. In January, she decided to publicize what happened. A criminal case was eventually initiated under the article on negligence (Article 293 of the Russian Criminal Code) against yet-to-be-identified employees of the gymnasium. The investigation was taken under control by head Alexander Bastrykin, and from the district department, materials were transferred to the 3rd department for investigation of particularly important cases of the regional management of the Investigative Committee.
