Trial of acid attack accomplices ordered by ex-boyfriend

In Yekaterinburg, a court has remanded 35-year-old Eduard Seredyuk and 27-year-old Ksenia Vladimirova in custody until March 11.

According to investigators, they were hired by Nikolai Yermakov to kill his ex-partner, with whom he lived for 17 years. On the morning of January 12, Alena was attacked near her home and had acid poured on her.
The charges against the defendants based on their roles are as follows:
«Organization of attempted murder committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy» (Part 3 of Article 33, Part 3 of Article 30, Point «zh» of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation);
«Attempted murder committed for hire» (Part 3 of Article 30, Point «z» of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation);
«Aiding in attempted murder committed for hire» (Part 5 of Article 33, Part 3 of Article 30, Point «z» of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The hearings themselves were closed to the media, with journalists allowed only for the announcement of preventive measures. Meanwhile, Seredyuk, who poured acid on the Yekaterinburg woman, hid his face from cameras, but his accomplice was more talkative. She stated that she only partially admits her guilt.
«We would have wanted to kill, we would have killed, probably,» she told journalists.
When asked who ordered the crime, Ksenia replied: «You already know.»
