A resident of Severodvinsk has been found guilty of publicly justifying terrorism. For comments online, the 31-year-old man received a real prison term.

The detention was made public on November 19, 2025, after security services intervened.

«The investigation and court established that the convict, in open access in public chats of one of the messengers, supported the ideology of terrorism, and also posted informational materials supporting and justifying the carrying out of terrorist activities,» reports the Investigative Committee.

During interrogation, the northern resident admitted his guilt and «repented for what he had done.»

The court sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a strict-regime colony.
