Ryazan Residents Face Prison for Alleged Gambling Operation

The alleged gambling operation in Ryazan reportedly generated over 18 million rubles (approximately $200,000 at current rates).
Deputy Prosecutor of the Region Alexander Kachurenko has issued an indictment against two men and three women who are suspected of organizing and conducting gambling games.
According to the investigation, in 2020 a local resident organized a gambling business in a premises that belonged to his relative. There, the man allegedly installed five slot machines and a computer, and also brought four people into the business as administrators. Over four years of illegal gambling operations, from January 2021 to December 2024, the suspects, according to police, earned more than 18 million rubles (approximately $200,000 at current rates).
Police officers seized all the gambling equipment. After the indictment, the criminal case will be sent to the Moskovsky District Court of Ryazan, according to the regional prosecutor«s office. The suspects face up to six years in prison.
