Pathologist Marries 12-Year-Old and Sentenced to Prison

The Verkh-Isetsky District Court sentenced 33-year-old pathologist Sergey Okladnikov. He was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl. According to the investigation, the defendant engaged in sexual relations with the child«s consent (but the age of consent by law is 16 years, and any intimate relations between an adult and a child under that age are a crime).
Okladnikov was a member of the Yekaterinburg Society for Krishna Consciousness, then he created his own religious Krishnaite community, where he met the parents of the victim girl.
The pathologist was a family friend and worked as the head of the pathological anatomy department at the regional children»s hospital, and taught at the medical academy. The child«s parents told E1.RU that they had many mutual doctor acquaintances, and Okladnikov»s reputation was impeccable.
Everything came to light by chance: the girl«s father saw intimate correspondence between his daughter and the «friend of the family». He started asking questions. The girl admitted that they had gotten married — they secretly went out of town, and there performed a wedding ceremony according to Krishnaite traditions, and after the «marriage» was concluded, she engaged in sexual relations with her «husband».
The parents immediately filed a report with the Investigative Committee. Before the trial, Okladnikov was in a pre-trial detention center.
«He broke her. He charmed her, bought her gold rings, showered her with gifts. With him, she started vaping. She is still a child, without experience, and he is an adult man, understood everything perfectly and coldly groomed her. He is simply a monster. It turned out that he noticed her when she was ten years old, showed her attention. Then he waited two years for her to become more feminine», — the mother of the victim girl told us earlier.
Students and colleagues of the defendant said that over many years they had noticed no oddities in him — he never harassed anyone, behaved appropriately. Some suggested that against the background of religion, he might have experienced a clouding of consciousness, others — that the cause of deviations was depression after his divorce from his wife.
But the forensic psychiatric examination, which is mandatory in such cases, concluded that the defendant was sane and aware of his actions.
The maximum punishment under this article is up to 20 years of imprisonment. The united press service of the courts of Sverdlovsk Oblast informed us that the accused was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime colony with subsequent restriction of freedom for 1 year and six months. Whether the defendant will appeal the verdict is still unknown.
Currently, in one of the cities of Sverdlovsk Oblast, a trial is underway, a stepfather is accused of sexual harassment of children. This also came to light by chance, the mother took her son to a psychologist so that he would study better, and he admitted that he was a victim of rape.
