The UMVD (Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) of Russia for Omsk Oblast told NGS55.RU about the reasons for the detention of police colonel Dmitry Nagibin. According to preliminary data, employees of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) were taking bribes from owners of illegal gambling businesses in the city. This occurred from December 2021 to April 2025.

The fact of unlawful actions was uncovered by operatives of the internal security service.

Operatives of the internal security service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) have uncovered the fact of unlawful actions by employees of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department. The collected materials have been sent to investigative bodies, which have made a procedural decision. If the guilt of the employees is confirmed, they will be dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on negative grounds and will face punishment in accordance with the law.

Earlier we reported that, according to an NGS55.RU source, the detention was carried out by the Moscow internal security police department with the support of the FSB (Federal Security Service).
