Official accused of using budget money to fuel Porsche Cayenne

Prosecutor of Orenburg District Dmitry Shevelenko has approved the indictment in the criminal case against the head of Nezhinsky rural council Nabi Osmanov. As already reported by 56.RU, he is accused of embezzlement of entrusted property (Part 3 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The press service of the supervisory authority has disclosed details of Osmanov«s »sins« that are imputed to him. According to the investigation, from December 2023 to December 2024, the official used plastic fuel cards belonging to Nezhinsky rural council to fuel his car and the cars of close relatives — a Porsche Cayenne, a Volkswagen Tiguan, and a Niva. Thus, 640 liters of fuel »leaked« away.

The criminal case has already been sent to court, and his property (worth 2.7 million rubles, approximately $30,000 at current rates) has been seized.

The day before, as we reported, Osmanov«s lawyer failed to challenge the preventive measure: the official, who was under house arrest due to »attempted pressure on witnesses«, was sent to a pre-trial detention center, and the Orenburg Regional Court did not release him from there. Osmanov faces a maximum punishment of up to 6 years in prison.
