Neighbors Describe Teacher Who Strangled Children, Mimicked Maniac
Local residents have known the teacher for years and express shock over the allegations against him.
Neighbors spoke about a balalaika teacher who strangled children in his apartment. Artem lives in a five-story building in the Avtovokzal district. Locals say they never saw him bring students to his place and didn«t hear any screams.
The teacher has resided in this apartment block from the day he was born.
Previously, the teacher lived in the apartment with his grandmother and mother — a teacher of Russian language and literature. Artem followed in her footsteps and continued the teaching dynasty. He started playing the balalaika in childhood. He was a musician in the school folk instruments orchestra. The boy stood out among his peers.
«Even in childhood, it was visible that he resembled a disabled person. He was always kind of scary-looking. They never saw him with friends or with girls. When he was a schoolboy, he was always alone. Maybe he was an outcast in his class,» a neighbor said. «He worked not only at school but also at the housing office, wearing their padded jacket.»
The entrance where the teacher«s apartment is located is like something from movies about maniacs.
Artem«s grandmother died many years ago, and in 2021 his mother also passed away. He was left alone in the apartment — by the age of 33, the teacher had not started a family. He has no wife or children.
«After his mother died, he became bloated. He started showing the effects of bad habits, he could come to work with alcohol on his breath. He started smoking openly. Before, he hid it from his mother — he respected her a lot,» a friend of Artem said.
A student allegedly filmed the incident, capturing the teacher«s actions on camera.
Recently, he worked in the additional education department at school No. 17, where he not only taught balalaika classes but also supervised children in after-school programs. For many years, he led the children«s balalaika ensemble «Oberton».
The teacher invited children to his home and offered them money to strangle them with a bag. He called it a «breathing test». After parents raised the alarm and contacted the police, he was fired.
According to E1.RU, several social media accounts were registered to the number belonging to the teacher. One of the pages was signed with the name Anatoly Slivko — the namesake and full namesake of a famous Soviet maniac.
