Mother Drowned Son After Voices, Planned Daughter's Death

Alexandra Shalina, who drowned her five-year-old son in a bath, wanted to kill her older daughter as well. This was reported to MSK1.RU by the boy«s godmother, Lyubov. The 15-year-old girl was saved because her mother considered her a »sinner« who would not go to heaven.

‘In the Investigative Committee, they said that she gave testimony indicating she wanted to stab the older girl. But then, voices in her head apparently said that she was sinful, that she smoked cigarettes, presumably. Such a lifestyle, that she is a sinner, is not allowed. And the son is a little angel,’ the godmother reported.

According to Lyubov, Alexandra may have schizophrenia. Family members suspect that it could have been passed on to Shalina from her mother, who was diagnosed with the disease.

‘If a woman has the disease, it is passed down through the female line. 90% chance that the disease will be passed on. This was the first warning sign that the person needed to be checked,’ the interlocutor said.

Today, in the village of Diveyevo in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Shalina«s son is being buried. She confessed to the murder and stated that she did not want to raise the child. On January 26 she was sent to a pre-trial detention center (SIZO) in a criminal case for the murder of a minor — at that time, the court press service disclosed the suspect»s identity.

The Shalin family has been known in the media since 2024. At that time, the father of the deceased child ended up in a pre-trial detention center — he was accused of rape by his stepdaughter. Together with Alexandra, she demanded a prison sentence for him and compensation of 40 million rubles (approximately $400,000 at current rates) for herself.
