Mother and two children found dead in Volgograd satellite city

The bodies of a 56-year-old woman and her two children, aged 23 and 21, were found in one of the private houses in the Paromny settlement of Volgograd«s satellite city, Volzhsky.
As reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Volgograd Region, the bodies of the deceased were discovered yesterday, January 22, in one of the private houses on Ukrainskaya Street.
— According to preliminary data, the household is gasified and heated using both a gas boiler and a wood stove,« the department reported. — At the time of the crime scene inspection, the stove was extinguished, the ventilation channel damper was in the closed position and possibly malfunctioning, windows and the entrance door were closed, as a result of which combustion products could have accumulated inside the living space. According to preliminary expert data, the probable cause of death for all three was carbon monoxide poisoning.
A criminal case has been initiated over the death of the Volzhsky resident and her two children under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Russian Criminal Code — «Causing death by negligence to two or more persons.»
