Details have emerged about the hostage situation in Pervouralsk. According to a source from E1.RU, police arrived at the apartment building on Malysheva Street for a different reason. They were searching for 52-year-old Azat on charges of desertion. When they came for him, the man panicked, claimed he had a grenade, and began threatening to blow up the building.

The Investigative Committee declined to comment on this information. Neighbors confirmed that they did not hear any screams or threats before the police arrived.

«It was very quiet. Although our windows face the same side. But we only learned that something was happening when they offered to evacuate,» a resident of the building told E1.RU.

To subdue the troublemaker, his mother was brought to the house. She negotiated with her son. But he did not surrender voluntarily, so security forces had to storm the apartment. The man was restrained and led out naked.

According to eyewitnesses, while the special operation was underway, the hostage Olga was sleeping. The grenade that her guest threatened to detonate was not found in the apartment.

It is known that Azat was previously convicted for robbery, assault, and causing bodily harm. He is now accused of unlawful deprivation of liberty.
