Man Altered Hair and Shaved Mustache Before Surrendering for Teen Assault

Law enforcement officials have commented for the first time on the case of a teenager being beaten at Uktus. It all happened on Saturday, January 17, when 13-year-old Vlastimir went with a friend to ride sleds down a hill.

While sliding down the hill again, the boy saw people standing on the slope. But he noticed them too late and didn«t have time to avoid a collision, so he crashed into a woman who was standing with her husband, 38-year-old Yakov Shusharin.

Shusharin began beating the teenager. This was captured on surveillance camera footage.

In the Sverdlovsk Investigative Committee, the Yekaterinburg resident was charged under the article for «Hooliganism» (Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code).

«The accused inflicted multiple blows on the victim, causing harm to his health, the severity of which is currently being determined through a forensic medical examination,» the Sverdlovsk Investigative Committee said. «After the act, the man fled the crime scene.»

Yakov Shusharin was detained, or more precisely, he himself appeared at the 13th police department. Now the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.

«The man named Yakov, whose work is related to marketing in a commercial company, behaved calmly, not presenting himself as, so to speak, experienced,» said Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Sverdlovsk Region. «He immediately admitted his guilt and expressed to investigators his willingness to answer for his unreasonable act. It was obvious that he was well-prepared for his visit to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And until that moment, he probably hoped that he wouldn»t be identified, as he had gotten a new haircut and shaved off his distinctive thick dark mustache, which had been visible in photos on the internet.«

At Uktus, Yakov and his wife were teaching their young daughter to ski.
