The missing boy was located in a rented apartment where he stayed with a woman, according to investigators.
The kidnapped 14-year-old son of Krasnoyarsk businessman Andrei Kaplia has been found, the press service of the Investigative Committee reported.
“He is alive, was in a rented apartment with a girl. We are clarifying all circumstances,” the department said.
As reported earlier, on the evening of January 22, the businessman«s son left home in Serebryany Bor “in an unknown direction with an unknown person.” In the evening, the child»s father was written to in a messenger that his son had been kidnapped and a ransom of 30 million rubles (approximately $300,000 at current rates) was demanded.
Meanwhile, three million rubles (approximately $30,000 at current rates) disappeared from safes in the family«s home. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on kidnapping, and the prosecutor»s office began a check. Investigators found out that before disappearing, the boy left by taxi with a girl.
One version is that the teenager fell victim to scammers. The child recorded a video appeal to his father, where he asked to do everything that was demanded.
Earlier, our colleagues from NGS24.RU reported that the teenager«s father Andrei Kaplia is the “king of state orders” and one of the richest businessmen in the region. According to the service “Kontur.Focus”, he owns major Krasnoyarsk firms “NBS-Sibir” and “Avtospetsmash”. The businessman did not link his son»s disappearance to his activities.
