In Ufa, the CEO of Golden Reserve, Zhanna Globenko, has been sentenced to prison. She was convicted of fraud using her official position on a particularly large scale. The court confirmed that she and her accomplices embezzled nearly 700 million rubles (approximately $7 million at current rates) from citizens.

The Golden Reserve case has been ongoing for years. In 2018, Ufa-based Roskomsnabbank established an «investment platform» that promised citizens 17% annual returns for investing in small businesses.

In 2019, the Central Bank of Russia revoked Roskomsnabbank«s license, triggering issues for Golden Reserve investors. Approximately two billion rubles (about $20 million at current rates) were frozen in the bank»s accounts, earmarked for depositor refunds. Overall, investors had poured 1.7 billion rubles (approximately $17 million at current rates) into the scheme, with some funds later recovered.

Zhanna Globenko is the only key figure to face punishment so far. However, the central figure in the case is Flyur Gallyamov, a former deputy of the Kurultai (the regional parliament of Bashkortostan), who is now internationally wanted: he was questioned multiple times as a witness but ultimately fled the country.

According to the Bashkortostan prosecutor«s office, nearly 1,700 residents of the region invested in Golden Reserve, with damages exceeding 690 million rubles (about $6.9 million at current rates).

Despite signing a pre-trial cooperation agreement with investigators, Globenko was sentenced to 3.5 years in a standard-regime prison and ordered to pay 304 million rubles (approximately $3 million at current rates) in restitution. She was taken into custody in the courtroom, but her actual prison time will be reduced due to credit for time served during the investigation.

In April 2025, warehouses belonging to Roskomsnabbank were sold in Ufa«s Nizhegorodka district, with the starting price near 90 million rubles (about $900,000 at current rates) eventually dropping by almost half.
