Girl with missing Krasnoyarsk businessman's son: Disappearance details

An 18-year-old girl from Surgut was with the missing son of Krasnoyarsk businessman Nikolai Kaplya, according to Baza and Kras Mash without citing a source, as well as TASS citing a source in the authorities.

According to Telegram channels, the teenager and the girl were scammed by fraudsters. Allegedly, they told her to pick up Nikolai and take him to a rented apartment. There, the boy and his companion recorded a video message for his father in a messenger and waited for further instructions.

The businessman himself, Andrei Kaplya, is sure that his son fell victim to fraudsters. «I»m sure it was fraudsters. Nothing else,« he told TASS. He read a message from an NGS24.RU correspondent in a messenger but did not reply. Kaplya Sr. did not answer the phone.

The 14-year-old boy went missing on the evening of January 22. It was reported that from the village of Serebryany Bor, where he lives, the boy was taken away by some girl. They got into a taxi and left in an unknown direction. Three million rubles (approximately $30,000 at current rates) went missing from safes in the businessman«s house.

Later, Andrei Kaplya was demanded a ransom of 30 million rubles (approximately $300,000 at current rates). Investigators opened a criminal case on kidnapping, but also considered the version of fraudsters. On the evening of January 23, Nikolai and the girl were found in a rented apartment on Krasnoyarsky Rabochy Avenue. Other details are being clarified.
