In the Neftekumsky district, investigators from the Investigative Committee (SK) have opened a criminal case for fraud in obtaining child benefits. Under suspicion is a 47-year-old resident of the village of Kayasula, who, according to the investigation, decided to «move to the North» — albeit only on paper.
As law enforcement established, in January 2024, the woman applied for monthly benefits for two children under 17. In the documents, she indicated that she resides in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra — a region where payments are higher due to harsh climatic conditions.
Based on this information, from January 2024 to January 2025, the suspect illegally received over 491,000 rubles (approximately $5,500 at current rates). The money, as clarified by the Investigative Committee, she used at her own discretion.
Now, the woman is suspected of committing a crime under Part 3, Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — fraud in receiving payments on a large scale. Investigators are conducting necessary procedural actions, and measures are being taken simultaneously to compensate the state for the damage.
The Investigative Committee emphasizes that the investigation of circumstances is ongoing, and the final assessment of the suspect«s actions will be given by the court.
