Ex-deputy director of Gorzelenkhozstroi in Yaroslavl to stand trial for bribery

A 65-year-old former deputy director of Gorzelenkhozstroi (the city«s green landscaping and construction enterprise) will stand trial in Yaroslavl. According to a source from 76.RU, this is Valentina Kurevina. She is accused of accepting bribes in large and significant amounts as a public official.

«According to the investigation, in 2022–2024 the accused received bribes from entrepreneurs totaling more than 1.4 million rubles (approximately $15,000 at current rates). The money was transferred for the acceptance of work under municipal contracts for cleaning the street and road network of Yaroslavl without actual confirmation, as well as for the acceptance of documents on the provision of special equipment without checking its availability,» the Yaroslavl Regional Prosecutor«s Office said.

The criminal case has already been sent to the Krasnoperekopsky District Court for consideration on the merits.

«Criminal cases against the bribe-givers have been separated into separate proceedings and are currently being investigated,» the prosecutor«s office clarified.

It was previously reported that the head and deputy head of companies providing specialized equipment for road cleaning in the city, as well as a representative of an individual entrepreneur engaged in the same activity, are suspected of giving bribes. Two defendants, aged 41 and 42, have been charged with giving a bribe to a public official in large and significant amounts, and a 42-year-old defendant has been charged with giving a bribe in a significant amount.

In the first case, the punishment could be up to 12 years in prison, and in the second, up to 5 years.

Valentina Kurevina herself could also face up to 12 years in prison.
