The Bogoroditsk Interdistrict Court of Tula Region has remanded in custody a man accused of brutally killing his wife.

According to the investigation, the tragedy occurred on the night of December 8, 2025, in an apartment in Bogoroditsk. The couple was at home, and the woman was drinking strong moonshine. A quarrel erupted between them: the man was dissatisfied that his wife had abused alcohol.

During the conflict, he splashed moonshine on her from a mug. The flammable liquid got on her body and clothes. After that, the man lit a lighter and brought the flame to his wife. As a result, the victim«s clothes and body caught fire.

The woman suffered severe thermal burns — about 35% of her body surface was affected, and her respiratory tract was also burned. Despite medical assistance, she died on December 14 at the Tula Regional Clinical Hospital.

The man has been charged with murder committed with particular cruelty. The court ordered him detained until April 18, 2026.
