Balaalaika teacher jailed for suffocating children with bags
Artem Vaganov, a balaalaika teacher, faces charges of attempting to murder underage students.
In Yekaterinburg, a court sent Artem Vaganov to prison — a balaalaika teacher at School No. 17. The educator invited students home and paid schoolchildren to check their breathing — in reality, the balaalaika player suffocated children with bags.
For the duration of the investigation, Artem Vaganov will be under arrest for two months — until January 19. In court, the teacher tried to hide his face from journalists and covered it with his hands.
When a video from the teacher«s apartment appeared, showing Artem sitting in front of a lying boy and holding a bag over his face, parents contacted the police. From there, the inspection materials were transferred to the Investigative Committee.
Law enforcement officers detained Vaganov and brought charges under point 3 of Article 30, point »a« part 2 Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — “Attempted murder of minors”.
A student filmed the incident where the teacher was suffocating children with plastic bags.
After the scandalous video of the suffocation was published, Artem resigned from the school. The educational institution told our editorial office that he did this of his own volition. In a chat, the teacher informed parents that he intends to teach his course in another place.
