Fugitive businessman Taran's motorcycle and dairy farm auctioned
The bankruptcy of notorious entrepreneur Nikolai Taran has entered a new stage. Arbitration manager Nikolai Lobanov has begun selling the businessman«s property. On the website of the All-Russian Electronic Trading Platform (VETP), five lots have appeared.
6 land plots and 2 non-residential buildings. They are located in the Vlast Truda settlement (Samara Oblast, Russia). They are valued at 116.6 million rubles (approximately $1.17 million at current rates).
5 non-residential buildings and one structure. These are workshops for vitamin-herbal meal, built in Vlast Truda. The cost of this lot is 15.2 million rubles (approx. $152,000 at current rates).
Three non-residential buildings and one structure of a dairy farm. They are also located in the Vlast Truda settlement. The starting price is 9.4 million rubles (approx. $94,000 at current rates).
6 land plots in the cottage settlement «Mastryuki» (Volzhsky District, Vlast Truda settlement). The auction organizer is asking 26.4 million rubles (approx. $264,000 at current rates) for them.
A black Kawasaki motorcycle. It is valued at 600,000 rubles (approx. $6,000 at current rates).
Bids for participation in the auction are accepted until 27 February 2026. The winners will be announced on 3 March. New owners of the property should note one nuance — all real estate objects are under arrest. This means that registration actions concerning them are prohibited.
In Samara Oblast, Nikolai Taran is known as the general director and sole owner of LLC «Rosskat-Kapital» (Rosskat-Kapital Limited Liability Company). This company was among the founders of the Rosskat plant, which went bankrupt in 2021. The entrepreneur also financed the construction of the «Gorod Mira» residential complex in Samara.
Another local asset of the businessman was the trade and office center «Vertikal». In 2020, it also encountered financial problems that could lead to bankruptcy. As a result, the court seized the businessman«s property and accounts, and the TOC itself was put up for auction. Initially, Nikolai Taran himself was supposed to settle the debts of »Vertikal«. But in the end, the arbitration refused to satisfy this claim.
In 2018, Nikolai Taran was a sponsor of the election campaign of Dmitry Azarov, who was running for governor of Samara Oblast and won the elections. In the same year, the entrepreneur was awarded the «For Labor for the Benefit of the Samara Land» prize.
In 2023, OMON officers came to the Rosskat office. According to law enforcement, from the beginning of 2016 to the end of 2018, the management of JSC «Rosskat» intentionally understated the amount of the taxable base. This led to serious legal problems for Nikolai Taran. The businessman was declared wanted and arrested in absentia.
Two years later, in the summer of 2025, his criminal case was sent to the Central District Court of Tolyatti. Along with the businessman, Elena Kazymova found herself in the dock. They are accused of fraud and legalization of criminally obtained income. The criminal case is linked to the withdrawal of money from «AvtoVAZbank». However, both defendants are participating in the process in absentia.
