Queen of the Roads: 46-year-old Toyota Crown up for Sale in Vladivostok

A 1980 Toyota Crown has been put up for sale in Vladivostok. One of the most popular models of the Japanese brand has clocked 262,000 kilometers, but despite its age and mileage, the owner has valued it at 1,900,000 rubles (approx. $19,000 at current rates), as stated on the website Drom.ru.
Production of the Toyota Crown began in 1955, and initially it was presented as a line of cars for taxi work, but in the end the model was turned into full-size sedans of the luxury and business classes, thanks to which it acquired the status of a representative car.
Since the late 1950s, the Crown has been supplied to the United States, and in 1964 Toyota launched exports to Europe and other countries. Often, car enthusiasts call the model the queen or king of the roads not only because of its class, but also because Crown translates as «crown», and this is confirmed by the unique emblem.
Interestingly, the seller listed the car for sale as a Toyota Crown Majesta, and even has the corresponding inscription on the back, despite the fact that the first generation of the Majesta with a unibody was released only in 1991, but the website states that there are no errors in the vehicle title data. The confusion in dates could have occurred because the car was brought to Russia in disassembled form in 2008, as the seller himself writes, and it is possible that according to the documents the car parts were imported and assembled as belonging to the Majesta.
In terms of its equipment, the car also more closely resembles the Majesta, at least with its V8 engine, and its power is 265 horsepower. The seller has also installed an adjustable suspension, which is visible by the wheel camber.
Over the entire time, the car has changed more than 4 owners, but the ad states that it is in working condition and in winter it is kept in a warm covered parking lot.
On 18 January, we wrote that in Artyom a rare Japanese limousine the Nissan President from 1979 is being sold. For the model, which has been discontinued but is well preserved today, the owner is asking 860,002 rubles (approx. $8,600 at current rates).
