Mostotrest Reports Progress on Rubеzhnoy Overpass Repair

Active work on the major repair of the Rubеzhnoy overpass across the railway in the alignment of Primorsky Highway is underway in St. Petersburg. As of January 29, bored piles have been prepared for the first and fourth supports, and construction of the support bodies has begun.

The overpass repair includes shifting supports and adding new lanes, sidewalks, and a bike path.

From the traffic lanes heading towards the city, reinforced concrete beams of the span structures have already been dismantled. During the repair period, traffic on the overpass is temporarily restricted: two-way traffic is organized via lanes in the direction of Vyborg.

Dismantling of the span structure over the railway tracks is scheduled for the end of February. The work will be carried out jointly with JSC Russian Railways (RZD) during «engineering windows» to minimize disruption to train schedules.

The major repair of the structure began in November 2025. After completion of all works, the overpass will be brought into compliance with regulatory requirements. It will retain a three-span scheme, but the supports will be shifted relative to the previous foundations.

According to the project, the renovated overpass will feature four lanes, each 3.5 meters wide, with safety lanes, sidewalks, and a 3-meter-wide bicycle path. Full commissioning of the facility is planned for the end of 2026.
