Novosibirsk shelter seeks home for 18-year-old cat Sits

The pet was found to have isolated copies of the feline immunodeficiency virus
An 18-year-old cat named Sits has ended up in a shelter in Novosibirsk. His owner died, and her son did not want the cat.
According to Imran Tano, head of the Novosibirsk shelter «Naslediye Bastet» (Bastet«s Legacy), the cat was brought by acquaintances of the family he lived with. Recently, the pet»s owner passed away, and the sole heir is unable to care for Sits.
“There are two problems, both significant: first, the cat is 18 years old; second, he has immunodeficiency. The test results indicate that there are isolated copies of the virus, which is good, but still. It«s undesirable to place him with other animals. That means the cat will sit in a cage with us until he finds a home or until the end of his life,” explained the shelter to NGS.
A note was passed along with the cat to the shelter. It stated what food the pet ate and described his history.
“His owner called him Sit, Sitik, Synok (Sonny). He has documents, but we couldn«t find them. The cat never had any illnesses, never went outside, and didn»t interact with other cats. He came to his owner at one year old and lived with her for 16 years. He loved to be scratched, petted, have his ears cleaned, and eyes wiped. He was very attached to his owner. She died from thrombosis. She always said: ‘I just hope he doesn«t outlive me,’” stated the note.

The cat was very attached to his owner
The shelter noted that Sits is very sad in the cage.
The cat is neutered and has primary vaccinations. Sits can be adopted by contacting the shelter «Naslediye Bastet» on the social network VKontakte.
On December 28, NGS wrote about a cat named Tigrashe with leukemia and viral infectious peritonitis.
