In Novosibirsk, a new home is being sought for Morien, a phenotypic Scottish cat. Rescued from neglectful conditions, he was previously adopted but has shown a strong personality.

Morien was brought to Novosibirsk from Iskitim. He had been living with elderly owners who had too many cats to care for properly, leading to about a dozen animals being taken in by volunteers.

‘Morien was initially adopted from a pet adoption fair,’ explained his curator, Kristina. ‘But the family lives in a private home and keeps quails. This hunter began stealing birds right from their cage: he would open it, strangle, and eat them. He’s a fan of raw meat in general. The owners tried to retrain him, but eventually gave up and requested we find him a home without any birds.’

His former owners say it’s hard to let him go, as Morien is intelligent and charismatic, if a little possessive.

Morien is described as both intelligent and charismatic by those who know him.
