Svetlana Zhiltsova's son announces funeral details

The funeral for Soviet TV legend Svetlana Zhiltsova will be held on February 6 at Rogozhskoye Cemetery in Moscow.
A farewell ceremony for Soviet TV presenter and announcer Svetlana Zhiltsova will take place on February 6; the artist will be buried at the Rogozhskoye Cemetery in Moscow, RIA Novosti reports, citing the artist«s son Ivan.
«Friday, at the Church of St. Nicholas at Rogozhskoye Cemetery. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the farewell,» he said.
Svetlana Zhiltsova was born in 1936 in Moscow. In her youth, she studied foreign languages. She began her career in a joint project of Soviet and Canadian television — a film about Soviet pop stars.
Zhiltsova was one of the most recognizable faces on Soviet television. From 1961, she hosted the program «KVN» (Club of the Cheerful and Inventive): first with Albert Akselrod, and then with Alexander Maslyakov. In the 1970s, Zhiltsova hosted «Song of the Year».
Viewers also remember her for programs «Budilnik» (Alarm Clock), «Utrennyaya Pochta» (Morning Mail), «Ogonyok» (Small Flame), «Spokoynoy Nochi, Malyshi» (Good Night, Little Ones), and «Veselyye Notki» (Happy Notes). In 1993, Zhiltsova left television and began teaching at the Higher National School of Television. In 2024, the artist buried her husband Vladimir Serebrennikov, with whom she lived for 58 years and raised a son Ivan. In recent years, Zhiltsova rarely appeared in public.
«But I refuse [invitations to television]. I decided: «Everything I could say from the screen, I have already said,»» explained Svetlana to our colleagues from StarHit.
On February 3, the TV presenter passed away after a prolonged illness. Zhiltsova was 90 years old.
Earlier, we reported on how the Moscow region bid farewell to TV presenter Nika Ganich. She passed away at age 59 on February 25 due to cancer.
